Remember that wild little cat that was living in our car port? Yes, well now her name is Brenda and she is fairly happily living with us. She is #2 of the cats that we actually own and #5 of the cats who happen to be living with us at the time.
So far, Brenda is good. She weighs a bit more than five pounds and we estimate her age to be around seven or eight months. She's been hanging around the cars all this time making friends with all the folks who share the lot, but rarely allowing any direct human contact.
We integrated her slowly into the apartment and the cat farm and now, I think she prefers it. Initially she was afraid of every noise - especially the TV and was wary of things she hadn't experienced before - like cat toys coming her way. Now though - she's cool with the TV and knows exactly what to do with a superball and how to shred a catnip mousie in no time.
We were most concerned with how Sophie would react to a new cat, and figured as long as she was already put out by the visiting threesome, she might not mind another feline presence and so far, this seems to be the case. We also figured that her highness might actually like some cat company and it would be good for her to retain a pal when the others go home at the end of the month - we'll see on that one.
As things stand, Sophie is still the queen bee around here (and Brenda knows it) and Brenda is allowed to share things like food and prime window seats (and Sophie knows it). Best of all - they have worked this system out on their own and we just sit by and watch.

Oh lordy, Brenda is a cutie. I do love a black and white cat, though preferrably nicer than the one we have! She's quite the hellion.

She's so pretty! And my experience with 'parking lot cats' is that they understand the hierarchy of things. They've usually been co-existing with other parking lot cats and know who the boss is. And when they move into a new situation, they figure it out there, too. The only problem is if the existing cats are so peeved that they don't want to get along - although in this case you may be right about Sophie already being annoyed, so what's one more??
I'm pretty sure I've never known a cat named Brenda before!

Hello Brenda! Man, she really is cute, and so fluffy! I'm dying to meet her, too bad you can't bring her up to MN in a few days. I love the picture on the fridge, every new cat needs to explore. Seriuosly though, five cats at once? Even a cat lover might find that a bit much, the poop alone is...I'm going to go back to watching the Tour now.

Brenda is a beautiful kitty and what a sweet name for her! I'm glad Sophie is accepting of her. I hope they'll be great kitty friends/sisters.

What a cutie Miss Brenda is! I love black and white cats. They always look so tailored and tidy.
